Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney Expresses Support for The Long Walk for Freedom

WASHINGTON, D.C., Mar. 9, 2021 — Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney has endorsed the Sindhi Foundation’s Long Walk for Freedom, Nature, and Love, which will be occurring this April 7th to April 29th. The 350-mile walk will commence in New York City and end in the District of Columbia, passing through the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. The Sindhi Foundation is holding the Long Walk to raise awareness of climate change and human rights violations, in Sindh and around the globe.

Representative Maloney recorded a video statement in support of the Long Walk for Freedom. In her statement, she recognizes the human rights and climate abuses occurring in Sindh and other countries around the world:

“For too long, the rights of disenfranchised groups have been overlooked. Sons and fathers continue to be forcibly disappeared. Young girls are married off to kidnappers. Civilians are killed for no greater reason than protesting against their government. Corporate powers continue to profit from the destruction of our planet. Enough is enough!”

At the end of her statement, Congresswoman Maloney sums up the purpose of the Sindhi Foundation’s Long Walk, stating:

“Through this Walk, bridges between these communities will be built and awareness of the human rights violations and the climate crisis will be heard.”

Maloney confidently asserts, “I morally support this cause and will be spiritually present for this event. I strongly urge other human rights activists, defenders, and student organizers to support the Long Walk for Freedom.”

Congresswoman Maloney is a member of the Congressional Sindh Caucus and has been a voice for Sindhi People for many years. Her support is vital in our movement towards freedom, nature, and love. The Sindhi Foundation feels honored and humbled to have received strong support from Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney.
